Our Facilities
Convenient, state-of-the-art care never sleeps at SCVS. We are easily accessible west of the I-20 and I-26 interchange. Look for our twin buildings with the terra cotta colored roofs on the I-26 frontage road.
Technologically Advanced, Environmentally Friendly
Two “Green” buildings totaling more than 23,000 square feet harbor cutting-edge technology in a nurturing environment:
- 24-hour Doctor Care
- Conference Rooms for Continuing Education
- Computerized Tomography (CT)
- Digital Imaging and Endoscopy
- Outdoor Exercise Areas
- Paperless Medical Records
- Rehabilitation Pool and Underwater Treadmill
- Separate Dog and Cat Wards
- Antech Regional Veterinary Reference Lab
Green
Following LEED guidelines (Leadership in Engineering and Environmental Design), we cut no corners making our facilities green. We colored our business practices green, too. Digital medical records minimize paper use, while digital radiographs curb the use of X-ray film and processing chemicals.
Recycling
Cardboard, paper, aluminum, plastic, and glass? We give them life again.
Solar Heat
Our solar panels, visible from I-26, keep us in hot water! Even in freezing temperatures, our sun-driven panels heat 160 gallons of water to 130° Fahrenheit. Free hot water makes an environmental statement heard loud and clear in our rehabilitation pool and underwater treadmill.
Natural Light
Daylight keeps morale up, bills down. Natural light and the sun’s daily rhythm provide healing qualities. Sunlight streams in through spacious windows, and seeing the sky and trees—even in Intensive Care—reminds us that our pets, like us, need to be in touch with nature. Fluorescent lighting provides additional lighting except in surgery, which has special needs. The 60-foot hardwood trees behind our property shade the operating rooms and animal wards. The trees invite area wildlife such as Eastern whitetail deer to frequent our campus.
Energy Efficient
Our cost-effective HVAC units draw minimum energy thanks to our energy-efficient entrances, glazed Low-E glass, and light-colored reflective roofs. It’s cool to be green in more ways than one.

Minimal VOC Releases
When it comes to green, we’re on solid footing. Flooring made from ceramic tile, Medintech vinyl, and quartz resin requires no maintenance waxing, periodic painting, or resurfacing. The result? Minimal Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) release. VOC-free wall paint keeps our inside air healthy for patients and staff.
Sunlight, clean air, and less reliance on traditional energy make for a longer, healthier life, and after all, that’s what we’re all about. |
