Kunkel, Kevin D.V.M. Dr. Kunkel earned his B.S. degree from Cornell University and his D.V.M. from Colorado State University. Following four years of private practice, he began his specialty training. After an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Oklahoma State University, he completed an internship in small animal surgery at Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center in Connecticut. Dr. Kunkel has been with the Surgery department of SCVS since 2007. He has completed and published research on a new technique for cranial cruciate repair in very small dogs and cats. He began a three-year surgery residency in July 2008. After Hours: Kevin enjoys hunting, fishing, polo, and working on his farm.
